The Hunt for Charlie – Hunting Human Traffickers

The Hunt for Charlie – Hunting Human Traffickers.

A true story of Hunting for Women Trafficked

Introduction
The following is a true story that shows how the El Cazador organization hunts and recovers girls trapped in Central American human trafficking bars.  Told by El Cazador – the Hunter, the story focuses on Charlie, a woman who went back home to Nicaragua after they freed her from a ficha bar in Orange Walk, Belize.

The Hunt for Charlie

Charlie is a tall, Nicaraguan woman.  She must be 6’ 7” in her bare feet and her hands are really big too.  But if you go to shake her hand it kind of feels like it can’t take the weight of a hello. Her name is really Charlene, but it always sounded to us like she was saying “Charlie.”

By the time we met up with her in a Belize ficha bar, we had our hunt routine pretty well down.  We’d been at it about two years by then.

So first off and so you know, we weren’t in that bar looking for Charlie.  We were there to get a Guatemalan girl named Vilma who we had hunted down for her family.

Life in a ficha bar

This one particular ficha bar was in Orange Walk, but it could have been anywhere else in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras or wherever in Central America.
